Heat is generated from above by a metal-sheathed element that directs heat towards the holding area's outer edges to compensate for heat loss, while warmth from below is provided by a thermostatically controlled base. Its construction keeps the base's exterior cool to the touch, protecting operators and the countertop surface below. Because the unit is made of stainless steel and aluminum, it resists corrosion and provides strength to support heavy use. Adjustable legs elevate the case off the countertop so users can clean underneath it.
